Sunday Worship in Flooded Church

1. Last Sunday was a first in my life-, so with the rest of those who gathered for the morning worship service at the Tagoloan Assembly of God Community Church. Rain was pouring almost daily through out that week. Our average attendance for Sunday morning services is 60. That morning it was cut in half. It had been raining since early dawn. When we arrive at church we had to take off our shoes before we got off the jeep, for the whole area was flooded with water ankle-deep. Murky flood water was everywhere: in the sanctuary and the pastor's quarters. It was fun time for the kids! They seem to enjoy the unusual church environment. We had to endure the cold flood water barefoot. The platform was dry and the praise and worship leader could still freely move behind the pulpit without creating a swishing sound of water to accompany the lively tempo of praise songs. Worship service was held as usual: singing, praying, and listening to the preaching of God's word. Worshiping in ankle-deep water was just a small sacrifice to make when we consider the supreme sacrifice that our loving heavenly Father made when "He gave His one and only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)."
